The black circle has been closed once again and it is with great pleasure that we would like to announce and welcome our new bass player, ZORNHEYM.
Now, that we face our new line up, I must say that the atmosphere and the chemistry within the band feels absolutely fantastic. Furthermore, every single member of Dark Funeral is once again sharing a tremendously strong commitment, an absolute dedication as well as utter professionalism. And I am absolutely sure that what you, our dear fans, soon will be able to witness that this unholy gathering of these five knights in Satan’s service is the most sinful and powerful Dark Funeral ever!
We have rehearsed together for a few months already. And it feels like we are already tighter and sound much better than ever before. So once we kick off touring again, we will be like an infernal war machine that will crush everything in its path.

At first, I'd like to say that it feels extremely good to be back
with all our might again. It's also amazing to see that the interest
in Dark Funeral and our hellish musical crusade grows rapidly fast
at the moment and is now bigger than ever before!
The 10 months we have been on hiatus have been quite frustrating to
say the least, but make no mistake, now it is full throttle! We are
currently busy rehearsing to get in killer shape and to be able to
hit the road as soon as possible to unleash hell upon mankind once
again!
Our booking agency, Dragon Productions, is currently hard at work on
booking shows/tours for us. We have already announced to board 70000
TONS OF METAL. The World's Biggest Floating Heavy Metal Festival
will cruise from Monday, January 23, 2012 aboard the Royal Caribbean

I must admit that it surely was not an easy task to find a worthy replacement
for Emperor Magus Caligula, who has been doing an amazing job for Dark Funeral
during the past 15 years. He has not only been "the vocalist" for the
band, but also a very good friend of mine and he always will be!
Anyway, 10 months of intense search worldwide have finally given result. And I'm
VERY proud to announce and welcome "NACHTGARM" to the horde.
I think, I can speak for everyone in the band and say that besides completely
knocking us down with the strength of his vocals and wide register, what truly
blew us away was his presence, energy and the amazing spirit he showed during
the final audition. He just came into the rehearsal room, found and took his
rightful spot. And then just set the whole place on hellfire!
It's really hard to explain "that" certain feeling one is looking for,
but once you get it, you just know that you've found the right man for the job.
And that is something we all got “deluxe”. No doubt about that! Mankind
has no idea what is coming upon them. And I can't wait to bring this maniac on
tour for the world to experience DARK FUNERAL in the most intense and hellish
way ever!
During the 10 month we have been looking for a new vocalist and drummer, we have
received over 1000 applications. The interest to join DARK FUNERAL has been way
over expectation and quite overwhelming to say the least. And I'd like to take
this opportunity to thank EVERYONE who applied for the jobs. One thing is for
sure: There are a lot of unknown talents out there. And once they've found the
right band to deliver their goods, I'm sure we all will hear from many of these

Chaq Mol Comments: When E.M.Caligula quit the band my first
thought was "how the fuck will we be able to find a worthy replacement now?".
In my eyes he was the best vocalist in the Black Metal scene. Anyhow, after we
had listened through a couple of hundreds applicants, there were two guys that
really stood out and sounded very promising indeed. The question now was, would
they nail it on a live audition too, and would their personalities be of that
kind we were looking for?! Well, after 10 month search we finally found the
right man for the job! And all my previous doubts and concerns are now a memory
forgotten. NACHTGARM, welcome to the horde!
Nachtgarm comments: To me, Dark Funeral is the epitome of
Black Metal. To be a member of this institution now, is not only a big honor for
me, but is also complementing my work as a lead singer as well as my action at
the front of the stage throughout the years. Consequently, I am very glad that
Dark Funeral put their unholy faith in me and my abilities.
As the successor of Emperor Magus Caligula I am quite aware of the high
expectations being directed to my person. However, I can assure every one of you
out there, that with every breath I take I will live up to these expectations.

Jag måste erkänna att det inte var en lätt uppgift att hitta en värdig ersättare
till Emperor Magus Caligula, som har gjort ett fantastiskt jobb för Dark Funeral
under de senaste 15 åren. Han har inte bara varit "sångare" i bandet,
utan också en mycket god vän till mig, vilket han alltid kommer att vara!
Hur som helst, 10 månader av intensiv jakt över hela världen har till slut gett
resultat. Jag är väldigt stolt att kunna presentera och välkomna "NACHTGARM"
till horden.
Jag tror jag kan tala för alla i bandet och säga att förutom att han
fullständigt knockade oss med sin oerhörda styrka och breda register i hans
sång, var det som verkligen blåste oss av stolen hans enorma närvaro, energi och
den fantastiska anda han visade under den sista audition. Han kom in i
replokalen, fann och tog sin rättmätiga plats, och satte sedan hela replokalen i
en helvetisk brand!
Det är svårt att förklara exakt den där känslan man är ute efter, men när du väl
får den, vet du bara att du har hittat rätt man förr jobbet. Det är något vi
alla fick "deluxe". Ingen tvekan om det! Mänskligheten har ingen aning om
vad som väntar dem, jag kan inte bärga mig att få ta med ut denna fullständiga
galning på turné, och låta världen få uppleva Dark Funeral på det mest intensiva
och helvetiska sätt någonsin!

förväntningar som nu riktas till min person. Men jag kan försäkra var och en av
er där ute, att med varje andetag jag tar jag kommer att leva upp till dessa
förväntningar. Hands down.

Ich muss gestehen, dass es keine einfache Aufgabe war, einen
würdigen Nachfolger für Emperor Magus Caligula zu finden. Immerhin
hat er die letzten 15 Jahre einen großartigen Job für Dark Funeral
gemacht. Darüber hinaus war er nicht nur Sänger der Band, sondern
auch ein sehr guter Freund und so wird es immer bleiben!

ein Ergebnis. Ich bin sehr stolz darauf ”NACHTGARM”
anzukündigen und Ihn in der Horde begrüßen zu können.
Ich denke, ich spreche für jeden in der Band, wenn ich sage, dass er
uns nicht nur vollends mit der Stärke seiner Stimme und seinem
breiten Register umgehauen, sondern auch mit seiner Präsenz, seiner
Energie, sowie seinem erstaunlichem Spirit beeindruckt hat. Er kam
in den Proberaum, fand seinen Platz und nahm ihn ein. Mit seiner
Leistung hat er dann alles weggesprengt!
Es ist tatsächlich schwer zu erklären, wie sich ”dieses gewisse
Etwas” anfühlt, nachdem wir alle gesucht haben. Aber wenn man es
erst einmal gefunden hat, weiß man sofort, dass man den Richtigen
für den Job gefunden hat. Die ganze Band war sich darüber einig. Die
Menscheit hat keine Ahnung von dem, was auf sie zukommt. Die Welt
wird in Flammen stehen. Ich kann es nicht erwarten diesen ”Maniac”
mit auf Tour zu nehmen, damit die Welt DARK FUNERAL in ihrer
intensivsten und bösartigsten Weise erleben kann!
Während der letzten 10 Monate, in denen wir nach einem neuen Drummer
und einem neuen Sänger gesucht haben, gingen über 1000 Bewerbungen
bei uns ein. Das weltweite Interesse DARK FUNERAL beizutreten hat
unsere kühnsten Erwartungen weit übertroffen und ich möchte diese
Gelegenheit nutzen, um allen Bewerbern meinen Dank auszusprechen.
Eines ist sicher: Es gibt ein Menge unentdeckte Talente da draussen,
die, sobald sie die richtige Band gefunden haben, definitiv für

After a short break of focusing on other aspects of my life, it’s a
great privilege for me to announce my return to Dark Funeral. The
time off has fueled my inspiration and urge to get back behind the
kit and annihilate. It’s an honour to play alongside my fellow
brothers again. May Dark Funeral rise to Dominate once more.
Lord Ahriman comments: It feels absolutely killer to be
working with Dominator again. He's not only an amazing drummer, but
also a very good friend. And I'm glad he's back in the band. A
massive welcome back brother! Now, let's together set the world

I/we
understand that many of you impatiently are waiting for us to
announce the new line-up, get back on tour, write and release a new
album and so forth, and rightfully so! Personally I wish we would
have been back at full force long time ago, but for obvious reasons,
we don't want to make any sudden decisions here, which I'm sure you
all understand!
Obviously, we could have chosen the quick and easy way, brought in
some great and talented session musicians, and just kept on touring,
but because we want to build a new, much stronger and sustainable
line-up, that was an option was ruled out immediately.
Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick sign of life and let you know
that things are moving along just fine. And as long as things
continue to go according to our master plan, we should be back at
full force before the summer. However, I'd like to point out that we
haven't made any final decisions or hired anyone yet, but it
shouldn't take much too long until we do. Stay tuned...

Recently, you
could read about Nils “Dominator” Fjellstrom´s departure from Aeon
due to personal/private reasons. Today we can confirm that he’ll no
longer be part of DARK FUNERAL either. And just like Aeon, we won’t
comment on this subject any further.
With that being said, I/we see no reason to waste any time here.
Besides a new VOCALIST, we are currently looking for a new DRUMMER
too. If you do believe that you have what it takes for the job,
please send us a brief introduction and some AUDIO/VIDEO files/links

With the recent departures from the band I/we understand if this may
cause some worries and/or confusion amongst you all, but you can be
rest assured that everything is under total control! It’s not like
anyone have left the band on bad terms, but unfortunately, sometimes
things like this is inventible, and needs to happen to secure the
survival of a band. And there is absolutely no doubt in my/our mind
that once the new line-up is complete. We will be a stronger and
better band than ever.
Musically we will continue in the same paths. I’m still main
responsible for all the song writings, incl. the drums. So you have
nothing to worry about there. However, a new line-up will naturally
color the sound in some ways, but I’m totally confident that it will
only be for the better.
I’ve recently started writing and demoing new stuff in my home
studio. And just like I (and Chaq Mol) did when I/we worked on the
pre-production for “Angelus Exuro pro Eternus”, I’m not only nailing
down the guitar parts, I’m also programming the drums. So far it
sounds totally fucking killer (of course!). However, at this point
it’s obviously still too early to say in what direction we’ll be
heading with the new material/album. We’ll keep everything “wide
open” until the new line-up is complete. And once complete, we’ll
continue to work on the new album as a full band. And this time I
hope that everyone will be able to contribute with some killer
material to make this to the best and strongest Dark Funeral album
to date!

The dawn of a new dark era has risen, and a new hellish chapter has begun.
Despite the circumstances, I must say that the band and I are extremely motivated and excited to start a new chapter in the saga that is DARK FUNERAL. We've already have some killer plans for the future. And all I can say at this point is that we'll be moving forward with full force and without mercy.
Those of you who've followed Dark Funeral since the beginning in 1993, surly know that this is not the first time we've undergone a major lineup change. And whatever some people may have thought or whined about, no one can deny the fact that I/we've always succeeded in recruiting new and amazing musicians to move forward and reach new heights with the band. There is absolutely no doubt in our mind that this will again be the case.
On August 21st we performed our last show with Emperor Magus Caligula at the Summer Breeze Festival in Germany. Since this was a very special performance in many ways, we not only put on our biggest pyro show ever, we also captured this gig with 10 cameras (including 1 crane). So you can be sure to expect a DVD release from this killer show in the near future. More info regarding the DVD will come in due time…
Since parting ways with E.M.Caligula, it come as no surprise to the rest of us, that B-Force would follow the same path and throw in his towel too. So I wish to thank him for the six fantastic years he'd been with us on bass. It’s been a pleasure indeed working together.
Said B-Force of his decision to leave the band: ´After six awesome and crazy years with Dark Funeral, I have decided to leave the band. It´s my own decision to leave one of the best band/friends in the world, but I feel that I need to move forward in life and do something else music-wise. There are absolutely NO hard feelings between me and Dark Funeral. We are and will continue to be good friends! I want to thank the band and all the fans all over the world. You kick ass everywhere I've been playing with the band. I thank you all. May the dark forces be with you.'-B-Force
We have already found a new and totally amazing bassist; a bassist who lives and breathes Dark Funeral in its purest form. And we couldn't be more honored to have him onboard. We will however wait until everything is settled before we present him to all of you, so please be patient.
Since announcing the departure of Caligula, we've been overwhelmed with vocal applicants. Among them are a couple of very strong candidates. However, since we feel no hurry to fill the position, we'll continue the search to make sure that when we eventually hire someone, it be someone who totally blows away everything in his path.

Gryningen av en ny mörk tidsålder har börjat, och ett nytt helvetiskt kapitel inletts.
Trots omständigheterna, måste jag säga att både jag & de övriga medlemmarna i Dark Funeral är mycket motiverade och ivriga att starta ett nytt kapitel i sagan som är Dark Funeral.
Vi har redan börjat smida några riktigt grymma planer inför framtiden, och allt jag kan säga just nu är att vi kommer att gå vidare med full kraft och utan nåd.
De av er som har följt Dark Funeral sedan starten 1993, vet att detta inte är första gången vi genomgår en stor line-up förändring. Och oavsett vad vissa människor har tyckt eller gnällt om, kan ingen förneka det faktum att jag/vi har alltid har lyckats rekrytera nya och fantastiska musiker, gått framåt och nått nya höjder med bandet. Och det finns absolut ingen tvekan om att vi än en gång kommer att lyckas följa samma mönster som tidigare.
Den 21 augusti spelade vi vårt sista gig med E.M.Caligula på Summer Breeze Festivalen i Tyskland. Eftersom detta var ett mycket speciellt gig på många sätt, drog vi inte bara på med vår största pyro show hittills. Vi fångade även denna afton med 10 kameror (inklusive en kran). Så du kan förvänta dig en DVD-utgåva från detta infernaliska gig inom en snar framtid. Mer info om DVD kommer inom kort ...
Nu när vi har skilt våra vägar med E.M.Caligula, kommer det inte direkt som en överraskning för oss andra i bandet, att B-Force väljer att följa samma väg och kastar in sin handduk också. Jag vill passa på att tacka honom för de sex fantastiska år som han har spelat bas med oss. Det har verkligen varit ett nöje spela & turnera världen över tillsammans.
B-Force kommenterar sitt beslut att lämna bandet: "Efter sex fantastiska och galna år med Dark Funeral har jag beslutat mig för att lämna bandet. Det är mitt eget beslut att lämna de bästa band/vänner i världen, men jag känner att jag behöver gå vidare i livet och göra något annat i musikväg. Det finns absolut ingen osämja mellan mig och Dark Funeral. Vi är och kommer att förbli mycket goda vänner! Jag vill tacka dem och alla fans jag mött värden över. Ni regerar överallt där jag har spelat med Dark Funeral. Jag tackar er alla! Låt den mörka krafent vara med dig. " -B-Force
Vi har redan hittat en ny och helt fantastisk basist, en basist som lever och andas Dark Funeral i dess renaste form. Och vi kunde inte vara mer hedrade över att ha honom ombord. Vi kommer dock att vänta ett tag, tills allting är helt klart med honom, innan vi går ut med en officiell presentation, så ha lite tålamod.
Sedan vi tillkännagav att E.M.Caligulas skulle lämna oss, har vi mottagit massvis med ansökningar om ny sångare. Bland dem finns ett par mycket intressanta och starka kandidater. Dock känner vi ingen brådska med att fylla sång positionen, varvid vi kommer att fortsätta söka ytterligare ett tag för att se till att när vi så småningom anställer någon, kommer det att vara en person som fullständigt blåser bort allt i sin väg.

It has come to our attention that “someone” has announced
several shows with us, Dark Funeral, in Central/Latin America this
autumn. Before this gets out of control, we’d like to point out that
we have NOT confirmed, nor even been in any direct
discussions with anyone, regarding a Latin American tour at this
point of time.
I would like to inform all of our fans that on Saturday, August 21,
at the Summer Breeze festival in Germany, I will be doing my last
show with Dark Funeral.
Naturally I have "mixed feelings" about this decision, but it is
final!
They say that every person will have about 15min of fame during
their life....!
Well, I have had a "hell-of-a-ride" for 15 years now together with
Lord Ahriman and Dark Funeral.
As some people love to spread weird rumors about others, let me make
this clear once and for all. I have not committed suicide, I have
not taken an overdose, nor are there any personal issues between me
and Dark Funeral.
However......!
My life has taken a new turn lately, and I am also getting married
this year (NOT to some crazy bitch in the U.S though….Hahaha),
whereof my priorities in life lie somewhere else.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of our fans for
their amazing support during all the 15 years I’ve been with the
band. And I would also like to thank my brothers in Dark Funeral for
all these years together.
Lord Ahriman and I have managed to raise Dark Funeral from the
deepest of abyss, when we have confronted problems before. And there
is NO doubt in my mind, that Dark Funeral, without me, will raise
once more, stronger than ever...
Caligula and I have shared some 15 kick ass years together. And I
would naturally like to thank my brother for the amazing work he has
done for Dark Funeral over all these years. It’s been a pleasure
indeed working together. You will be missed deeply! But as with
everything else, I understand when people change course and get new
priorities in life. And I fully respect that. Life moves on after
all, and so will DARK FUNERAL.
In the meantime, and while we’re searching for a new vocalist, the
most logical thing for us to do, is obviously to enter writing mood.
And that’s exactly what we’ll be doing. From now on and until we
have found and installed a new killer vocalist we begin to work on a
new full-length album. However, you can be rest assured that as soon
as we have found a new vocalist, we’ll set full force, and continue
to tour the world in usual Dark Funeral manner.
THIS STATEMENT ALSO SERVES AS AN OFFICIAL LAUNCH FOR A NEW VOCALIST!
Naturally, our demands on a new vocalist will be VERY high, but I/we
are fully confident that there are some amazing vocalists out there
that would fit us like a hand in glove. So if you do believe that
you have what it takes to blow us away with your vocal skills, and
to replace Caligula, don’t hesitate to send us some AUDIO/DVD files

Since the show at Summer Breeze Festival on Aug 21th will be the
very last show we will do with Caligula behind the Mic, you can be

Yet
another festival weekend is coming up, but unfortunately
we have some bad news for all of our Ukrainian fans.
ProRock 2010 (Ukraine), where we were supposed to
play Saturday (July 17) has been cancelled!
We’re extremely disappointed of course, but in this type
of situation there’s unfortunately nothing we as a band
can do. We do however hope that all of you who have
bought tickets for the festival will be refunded by the
organizer.
Since we truly hate cancelled shows, our booking agency
has, in this very last minute, been trying to arrange a
replacement show in Kiev, but since the promoter has
failed to keep his part of the deal, a replacement show
won’t happen either.
However, tomorrow we’ll definitely play at KALTENBACH
OPEN AIR (Austria) as scheduled [http://www.kaltenbach-openair.at].
We will hit the stage at 22:20 and play an hour set. And
we’re totally looking forward to it. See you there!!!!

Just nu befinner vi oss i Oulo, Finland, med bara 2
dagar kvar av ”A Declaration of Hate” European Tour
2010. Under de senaste 6 veckorna har vi avverkat 38 gig
i totalt 17 länder. Det har varit hårt, brutalt och
svettigt, men grymt jävla fett & bra respons!
Måndagen den 19 April står vi åter igen på Svensk mark.
Då kommer vi att hålla ”the grand finale”,dvs denna
turne's sista gig på Klubben i Stockholm. Därför har vi
planerat att köra en extra lång setlista samt spela in
och eventuellt släppa det som live-platta. Be there ot

We have just completed 2 days of pre-production for the tour at
Avenyn, which is a big theatre in the centre of Ludvika, Sweden.
It went amazingly good. The set-list we have put together this
time totally kills. And I'm absolutely sure it'll please both
new and old fans. We have brought in several of our old songs
that we haven't played in ages, even some that we never even
played live before. It's also the longest set we've played live
so we're giving it all 666% this time around, which afterall is
what our fans expect and deserve from us.
The
stage design and set-up we have put together is the biggest
we've ever brought out on tour. And as you can see on the
images, it looks phenomenally evil.
Last
night the tour bus came to pick us up. And once we had loaded
all the gear and personal belongings we set the course straight
to Skövde, where we'll kick off the tour tonight.
Today it’s less than 2 weeks left until we kick off our massive tour
throughout Europe, a tour that we dubbed “A DECLARATION OF HATE -
EUROPEAN TOUR 2010”.
41 shows across 17 countries are lined up, so this will be a massive
trek indeed. The tour premiere will be held in Skövde, Valhall,
Sweden on March 5th, and we will round up with a hometown show
(Stockholm, Sweden) on April 19th.
As support, we will bring with us some truly killer acts too:
Zonaria (SE), Carach Angren (NL), Nefarium (IT). On the UK dates
Akercocke will join the horde, too.
On March 3rd-4th we have rented a theater where we are going to hold
some serious pre-production rehearsals. You know, to plan the last
few details and make sure that everything works and goes as we’ve
planned. Can’t fucking wait for that! Anyway, I’ll make sure we get
some images shot from it and posted on the web, hopefully on the 4th
already!
We have also prepared a killer setlist. And I’m absolutely sure that
it’ll please both old and new fans of the band.
Since it’s almost five years since we last toured Europe we have
planned and prepared to bring out our biggest production yet. So be
prepared for a HELL of a show!!!
Not only will this be the biggest production we have ever brought
out on the road, it will also be the longest tour we’ve done since
2001 (Diabolis Interium). And we’re totally looking forward to it!

With deep regrets I have to inform
you, that we have to cancel Dark Funerals appearance at the
Metalgate Festival 2010. After the rip off with that Unholy Fest in
2009 that probably all of you know about, it's even more
disappointing to be unable to give you the band you are looking for
for a festival show this summer.
As well as the guys in Dark Funeral,
I'm a man who means yes, if he says yes! Only this time I stumbled
over my own feet - meaning, that I confirmed the Dark Funeral
tourshow on April 4th at the Masters of Rock Café in Zlin as
exclusive (!) show for Czech Republic! A few weeks after that I
agreed with the Metalgate Festival on Dark Funerals appearance for
2010. In the meatime I had simply forgotten the other deal I made
before...
When the Metalgate billing was
announced recently, I was reminded on our exlusive agreement by
Pragokoncert, who are promoting the show in Zlin. So now I simply
have no other chance than to stick to my first word. And that means,
to take Dark Funeral off the bill of Metalgate 2010.
I'm human. I make mistakes.
Unfortunately!
I'm already working together with
the great guys in the Metalgate team to get another band as
replacement for Dark Funeral. And apart from that, Dark Funeral are
ready to play the Metalgate in 2011. This is something we will talk
about, once a replacement band is found. This part has priority now!
Please take my apologize, and don't
blame either Dark Funeral or the festival promoters, as they have
nothing to do with this! I have to add, that band and promoter both
reacted more than cool on this desastrous situation. Respect for
that!
So please come and see Dark Funeral
in Zlin on April 4th and see them again, hopefully at the Metalgate
in 2011.
And by the way - and without doubt:
german beer is not the best, czech beer is by far much better! ;)

We’re proud to announce two (of the three) support acts for our
up-coming tour throughout Europe; ZONARIA and CARACH
ANGREN. On the UK leg of the tour AKERCOCKE will be

understand that many of you impatiently are waiting for us to
announce the new line-up, get back on tour, write and release a new
album and so forth, and rightfully so! Personally I wish we would
have been back at full force long time ago, but for obvious reasons,
we don't want to make any sudden decisions here, which I'm sure you
all understand!
